This remodel started with a blank wall. We installed a SimpliFire 60-inch Linear fireplace and a wooden mantel, then built an insert above the fireplace so the TV could sit right over it. The whole structure is covered in horizontal shiplap and trimmed with square-edged trim.
Starting With a Blank Wall
Before any framing went up, the wall was a flat white surface with the fireplace and TV locations sketched on in pencil. Marking the layout first lets us settle the height of the fireplace, the mantel and the TV before anything is cut.

Framing the Fireplace and TV Insert
Next we built a wood frame out from the wall. It includes a recessed opening for the TV, so the screen sits flush instead of sticking out. With the frame up, the SimpliFire Linear fireplace, the wooden mantel and the TV went into place before any finish work began.

The Finished Look
To finish, we overlaid the framing with horizontal shiplap and added square-edged trim around the TV insert, the edges and the base. The stained wood mantel stands out against the white wall, and the linear fireplace gives the room a clean focal point under the TV.
